Founded in 2001, La Linea – The London Latin Music Festival – is a twenty first century presentation of all that is best and current in contemporary Latin music. Each April, in venues across Central London, you can listen to cuban, brazilian & spanish artists. This year, come to explore Gaby Moreno, London Community Gospel Choir, Melingo, Ed Motta + Dom La Nena, Roberto Fonseca, Marinah… Fondé en 2001, La Linea – Festival de Musique Latine à Londres – présente les meilleurs artistes de la scène musicale latine contemporaine. Chaque mois d’avril, dans les salles de concerts du coeur de Londres, venez écouter des artistes cubains, brésiliens et espagnols. The Guatemalan singer-songwriter, and 2013 Latin Grammy Winner brings her unique Latin inflected Blues & Soul to Rich Mix in the heart of Shoreditch. Gaby has recently been performing on a world tour with Hugh Laurie and theCopper Bottom Band. Backed by a sizzling big band, led by Cuban virtuoso violinist Omar Puente, London’s much loved London Community Gospel Choir inject some Havana heat into their tunes, as they present a dynamic makeover of some of their repertoire in a brassy, Latin format. Accompagné d’un orchestre de Jazz et mené par le violoniste virtuose Omar Puente, la chorale du London Community Gospel Choir injectent une dose dynamique de musique Cubaine a leur style pour présenter leur nouveau projet Latin.
MELINGO
Sunday 6 April – Doors 8.30pm / Southbank Centre’s Purcell Room, SE1
This mysterious Tango virtuoso brings his bohemian style to the Southbank for this year’s La Linea Festival. The Melingo sound adds snatches of blues, bossa-nova and candombe to his unique take on tango. Melingo won Argentina’s coveted Premio Gardel for best male artist tango album. On April 6 he brings his new opus Linyera to the Southbank’s Purcell Room. Ce virtuose du Tango apporte une touche bohème au Southbank pour cette edition du Festival La Linea. Sa musique unique est un mélange de blues, bossa-nova et candombe, le tout enveloppé d’une fine couche de Tango. Melingo a gagné le le prix Gardel de meilleur album de tango d’un artiste masculin. Le 6 Avril, il amène des effluves de son nouvel album Linyera à la salle Purcell du Southbank.
ED MOTTA + DOM LA NENA

Brazilian Jazz-Funk vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Ed Motta(as seen on Gilles Peterson‘s Basement Sessions) covers many genres utilising influences from jazz to popular Brazilian music, rock to Hollywood film soundtracks, funk, classical, bossa nova and reggae. Support from Brazilian cellist, singer and songwriter Dom La Nena. La Star du Jazz-Funk Brésilien Ed Motta (vu récemment sur les Basement Sessions de Gilles Peterson) se trouvera à laUnion Chapel cet avril pour commencer sa tournée Britannique. Il sera précédé par la charmante violoncellisteDom La Nena et jouera un mixe de son repertoire variant du Rock aux musiques de films Hollywoodiens en passant par la funk et la musique classique.
ROBERTO FONSECA + FAMILY ATLANTICA

The Buena Vista Social Club piano prodigy brings his sizzling Afro-Cuban jazz to Camden’s Koko. The 2014 Grammy nominee Fonseca is paired with London’s ownFamily Atlantica who mix the beats of West Africa with Latin America’s Atlantic Coast. Le brillantissime pianiste de Jazz Afro-Cubain, qui fût parti du fameux Buena Vista Social Club et nominé aux Grammys 2013, Roberto Fonseca jouera au Koko de Londres. Les pointures de Musique d’Afrique de l’Ouest Family Atlantica, seront en première partie.

Ojos De Brujos’ Marinah presents her new solo project El Baile de las Horas, combining some elements from Ojos but also a new softness in her voice and a fresh sense of positivity in her music and lyrics.
